The solution Alkalinity (0.145) influences the corrosive effect
of the Lithium Bromide on the internal metals, iron and copper.
As the alkalinity increases, copper will corrode more rapidly and
the iron or steel will corrode less, and vice versa.

Alkalinity also indicates the presence of air leaks. The value
in the January, 1999 report would possibility indicate an air leak
and would have an adverse effect on the copper portions of the chiller.
